The Heart Behind the Home

Iron & Oak Home is the natural evolution of Maria Giraldi and Barry Tartarkin’s 30-year creative partnership. Before furniture and home décor, they built Lemon, a nationally loved brand, known for luxuriously soft natural fabrics and accessories with an emphasis on cozy luxury. What began with a single hand-knit slipper grew into loungewear, blankets, and pillows—pieces that naturally reflected their insight into the power of comfort, texture, and thoughtful design.

In 2019, a friendly competitor visited their New York showroom, impressed by their success and interested in purchasing the company. Selling the business came with a significant non-compete. Barry, who had already been exploring real estate, then devoted himself full-time to buying, selling, and furnishing homes—a process in which Maria’s keen design eye proved invaluable.

Maria, a multi-faceted fashionista, honed her sophisticated sense of style during her time with Chanel and as co-founder of Lemon. Her vision informs every detail of her designs, reflecting her belief that, just like in the world of fashion, elements can be layered freely to create what is pleasing to the eye. There are no rules—the magic is in the mix.

Together, Maria and Barry have created Iron & Oak Home, a boutique furniture studio rooted in Mediterranean ease, refined coastal living, and a belief that comfort and craftsmanship belong in every detail. Today, their Delray Beach showroom embodies everything they’ve built together—natural materials, timeless textures, and a curated balance of artisan-made and one-of-a-kind pieces, designed to create homes with soul.
